I finally got everything put together and the skin installed to protect the outside from scratches. I think it’s the prettiest iPad ever. Thank you to everyone who donated to help me purchase this. It’s awesome! I have SO much to learn about this iPad! I’ve already downloaded Procreate and I’m just getting used to the Apple Pencil. What a totally new experience, being able to touch the screen!
I got a protective Slick Wrap made to keep the scratches off the iPad and got to use one of my own abstract paintings. I love how it turned out! Just as I was writing this I got an email from them with a coupon code URL. So if you want to save five dollars and get your own, just click the link above. I love how it looks and no one else will have an iPad that looks like mine. :o)
Thank you Everyone!
One really cool feature of the iPad is that with the bluetooth connection to iTunes, I can hear all my music through my hearing aids. I know many of you know I lost my hearing in my right ear late last year. Seriously, not a big deal when one gets to be Bionic instead! Yes, it can be slightly frustrating if I’m in a noisy room and darn, I do miss my alarm if I’m sleeping on my good ear. LOL. BUT, this bluetooth thing is awesome! No one else can hear it and it’s like having a $3000 set of Beats headphones on. Hahaha. This is one of those times I totally praise and thank God for the Canadian health care system. My iPad sounds awesome, by the way.
A Little Update On Treatment Timeline:
So when I went down to Victoria to see the cancer and radiation doctors a few weeks ago, they said I’d need a special CT scan in Vancouver. The timeline stretched from getting into treatment in 2-3 weeks to more like 4 weeks. They also told me they wanted to do specialized, intensive radiation for two weeks after the first five. But then when I got home, nothing happened. No hospital phoned with an appointment for the special PET CT scan. I called Victoria ten days later and they admitted dropping the ball and the appointment was only put in that day.
SO, the timeline now is WAIT another 3 weeks for that PET scan, get it, then go BACK down to Victoria for a scan in THEIR machines for calibration THEN treatment will begin a couple weeks after that. So, this is what it breaks down to… I still don’t have an appointment for the PET scan so..
it’ll be another month or so until treatment begins and treatment will be seven not five weeks. I may not be back until the end of October!!!!!! Holy cow, that’s Halloween! The good thing is it’ll be cooler at the cancer lodge and they don’t have air conditioning. Hopefully everything gets going and we get on with this by mid to end of August. Cross your fingers and toes! It does give me more time to learn the iPad and boy do I need that time! I can’t even figure out how Safari saves favorite sites yet, lol. I think You tube is gonna be my bestest friend.
Ok, onto a deal!
One other thing. I noticed today when I got a push notification from Amazon Canada that their Tombow Dual Tip brush pens are on for a spectacular price. Both the Brights and the Primaries are on for one $13.11. I KNOW! Even Amazon USA doesn’t have prices like that! So if you want them, I’d grab them before someone figures out there’s been a mistake, hahahaha. I’ve never seen Tombow dual tip Brush pens for this price. Here are the links.

I’m starting to feel like an ipad dunce lol. I check email, read all the scary news, and watch youtube videos. OK, ok….and have one game app for jigsaw puzzles. I’m so terribly old school! I’ll be curious what you do on yours from an art standpoint. I follow a few other artists who do a lot of tech type reviews and finally realized that for me, watercolor is an escape from digital … but that also has a lot to do with how much of my time is spent on a computer for work I think.
And…um…I might just be old school (like my refusal to “do” facebook. 😉

Hello Jenn, Wishing you strength and perseverance as you await all the tests needed during this period. We’re finding out more than we ever wanted to know about being in hospital as we seek to help my Mom (87) await a postponed operation for tic delarue AKA trigeminal neuralgia.
I’m so glad that you were given the iPad AND that you are receiving so much pleasure from discovering what you can do with it! I’m sure it’s a real Godsend whilst whiling away time in waiting rooms etc. And you’re sharing your findings with us…I love it when I see that you have posted something b/c you invariably provide just the info I didn’t know I needed to know 😉
BTW, just a little eye-opener…my niece works in HR in a huge hosp. In her dept. the computer ‘system’ still operates on DOS (yikes). God bless!

I’m shocked to hear about the delays you are having in getting treatment – it seems inexcusable. Why do you have to wait to get a PT Scan, or any medical services you need for that matter? I had a PT Scan within a few days of my doctor ordering it. Maybe you could call some other imaging centers for an immediate appointment. I just can’t believe you are being treated this way when you have a serious illness. I’m surprised your doctor isn’t insisting on immediate action. Please take best care of yourself.
