Did you know that My “Juicy” Trio is still available for purchase? If you haven’t heard, I got the opportunity to work with Da Vinci Paints to make a limited palette of three new 8ml watercolor tubes. It was a spectacularly fun project. Read all about it here. I used my three colors (red rose deep, phthalo green and Hansa yellow deep) with these tulips. All the heavy lifting was done using my Zebra technical pen (0.1). There are two other Trio sets so check them all out here. I get a small percentage of each sale so thank you to everyone who purchases a set. Da Vinci watercolors are truly wonderful paints. I now only use two brands, Da Vinci and Schmincke. Da Vinci has pushed out all of the Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton etc from my studio palette.
I absolutely love working on the Hahnemühle postcards. They come in a wonderful tin with artwork on them. Each year a new tin design comes out and there’s now both rough and cold pressed paper available! The cold pressed version of the postcards & tin are new and my new tin will be arriving next week. I can’t wait to get my hands on it and dive in. It’s just made so easy when you can grab a postcard, beautiful thickness and rounded corners and just go to town. No thinking, no cutting down larger paper. It’s immediacy is addictive and they’re such a great price. The tins are spectacular, you can store your finished postcards in them or repurpose the tin into a great travel palette. I’ve done both.
The tulips above were done on the rough postcards. I reviewed them here and here. They have some really lovely texture that adds and highlights the watercolor you use. It’s not difficult to draw on them so no worries about pens skipping around. They’re approximately 4″x6″ and you get thirty (30) watercolor postcards @230gsm per tin. As I said, the tin is kinda awesome and I love it as much as I do the actual postcards. I’ve begun collecting the different artwork on them. The new Hahnemühle cold pressed watercolor postcards will be available soon so keep your eyes out for them.

I’ll be back soon with some really great stuff. I’ve been working hard on a project that had it’s inception in November 2017 and is only now coming to fruition. I’m so excited to announce what I’ve been diligently be working on for the past seven months. Hold your hats, it’s a doozy. There’ll be a huge giveaway, lots of art and tons of information. Now that I’ve titilated you with absolutely no hints as to what the heck I’m talking about, heehee, I’ll let you go and dream about what might be on the horizon for the end of May. What a great birthday month it has been! Thank yo to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It’s been a wild ride.
Learning: How to manage having TOO MUCH TO DO!!! Arrrrgggggg!
Anticipating: A huge new project will be rolling out in the next week. Watch this space!
Planning: Several large giveaways, two with paint and one with drawing supplies. Who doesn’t love free stuff?
Loving: All the birthday wishes I got and the love from friends and family. I’m so lucky.

Gorgeous tulips Jenn! My ‘wish list’ on Amazon is growing, thanks to you! lol. I like the rounded corners of the postcards. I’ve been in a couple postcard swaps over the years and these would be great as opposed to cutting down large pieces of watercolor paper, and that tin…..an added bonus! Very excited to hear about the new project. I hear ya about managing too much to do, “Arrgggg is right!! thanks for sharing your passion and creative inspiration 🙂
