I’ve already said (Here and Here) that I love Hahnemühle’s Cézanne watercolor paper, either hot or cold pressed. While Cézanne is their 140lb/300gsm Leonardo is the 300lb/600gsm version of Cézanne! These olives are done on the hot pressed watercolor paper. I’m hoping to also try the cold pressed soon. So far, so good. I’m still working on the Leonardo but so far, it’s wonderful to work on a paper that just doesn’t warp. The heavy weight keeps it flat as a pancake.
I’m using my Da Vinci watercolors here to achieve the shine on these olives. I love how bright the paint looks on this paper. I’ve called this painting, tongue planted firmly in cheek, “Deconstructed Olive Oil”. I’ll be back soon with new paintings on this and other wonderful papers.
Da Vinci has new 8ml tubes coming out soon. Check the details here. Also, I’ll be hosing several great giveaways this month so stay tuned!
