I was honored to be asked by Wet Paint Art Store to choose the Custom Schmincke Palette watercolors for 2018. Wet Paint creates custom Schmincke palettes that have become coveted over the years. This year I was thrilled to be the artist to choose the 12 half pans of Schmincke watercolor to fill this beautiful tin. This is the first colorful tin offered in North America. Usually the tin that holds an artist’s watercolors is dull and black or grey. It is thrilling to have my name associated with such a pretty palette. The bright, colorful outside of the tin hints at the gorgeousness of the transparent Schmincke watercolors that fill the inside. There are a limited number of palettes available so if you would like to order one you should do it earlier rather than later this year. Read all about the project, how to order it and what’s in this palette here.
I was so thrilled to work with Da Vinci Paint and two other artists on a project to create three limited palettes. We called them Trios. With Charlie O’Shields of Doodlewash and Tonya Lee of Scratchmade Journal, we each chose three 8ml tubes of Da Vinci watercolors and painted our hearts out. We showed what you can do with a limited palette of just three beautiful colors.
My “Juicy” Trio includes Phthalo Green, Red Rose Deep and Hansa Yellow Deep. You can purchase my set on Da Vinci’s website. Thank you if you do because I am now a Da Vinci Affiliate so I receive a small compensation with every tube you purchase. This costs you nothing but I still so appreciate your support in using my links to buy your supplies. It supports this blog and it’s so helpful in keeping this artist painting. If you would like to purchase one of the other beautiful Trios please use this link.
I was the featured artist over on Doodlewash. It was fun to work with Charlie. Also, Doodlewash is a place I play. You can create a profile and share all your art too. There’s a huge amount of resources and chatting between artists. Come on over and join us, it’s a great growing community. Charlie is the creator of both Doodlewash and World Watercolor Month. I was also the Canadian Contributing Editor of Featuring Magazine. Featuring was an international Art magazine that published quarterly for several years until the European crisis unfortunately forced it’s doors to close. I truly enjoyed writing all about art and artists, paint and techniques. I found out that I loved building a story and crafting something to evoke a feeling. Thank you to Marit Barentsen for the awesome opportunity to not only write for Featuring but also have my artwork published.
