B&W ways to add water Moleskine page So I’ve been aimlessly playing in my sketchbook. I should have taken the time to explore crosshatching a week ago as I’m taking SBS’s “Stretching” course, their fourth installment of Sketchbook Skool. I guess this time I’m not feeling as inspired as several of the teachers are into…
Sketchbook Skool
Art For All
I’ve been delighted to be a part of a new movement toward making art. It’s happening all over the world, from “Stockholm to Sydney, Barcelona to Brooklyn”. It’s the one year anniversary of Sketchbook Skool and both students and teachers are cheering the phenomenal success created from the inspiration from Danny Gregory and Koosje Koene. If…
Just A Little Note…
I thought I’d tell all of you about the free introductory class from Sketchbook Skool. Anyone who has thought of signing up but has been reluctant can try it out first and get your feet wet, so to speak. This allows all of you who just don’t know what it would be like to take…
My Last Page
I can’t believe I’ve finished my Moleskine sketchbook. It’s a real milestone for me. I had only done about a dozen or so pages in my Watercolor Moleskine in 2012 and 2013. Then I signed up for Sketchbook Skool earlier this year. In doing two courses with them (“Beginnings” and “Seeing”), each course being six…
AEDM Day Twenty-Eight
Well, Sketchbook Skool is officially over. *Sigh*. It makes me kinda sad, even though doing both Art Everyday Month at the same time I did SBS has been tiring. I’ve decided, in fact, to wait until January 1st to start the seventy-five day challenge a-la Brenda Swenson. I just want Christmas off. I’m looking forward…
AEDM Day Twenty-Seven
Today I finished my homework for the last class of “Seeing” Sketchbook Skool. I’m a little sad to see it finished. I’ll have to wait until January to possibly take another course, they haven’t even announced what the next installment will be. I don’t think I’m going to take “Storytelling” as I’m not any kind…
AEDM Day Twenty-Six
I painted my teacup. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. Doing the detailed pattern study yesterday made me realize just how fiddly teacups are and I knew that the pattern on the actual teacup I’d be drawing was much smaller than the larger version I did yesterday. But, I…
AEDM Day Twenty-Two
I had a really productive day today making art. In fact, I haven’t even started watching the Liz Steel videos in my last class of SBS. My first page that I completed was the page beside my magnets page so I wanted whatever I drew to go with that. I decided to finally draw…
AEDM Day Twenty-One
Holy Cow, so much art, so many days, lol. We’re all making it through though. Today I did my final piece (for now) in Andrea Joseph’s style. It’s in my new sketchbook Moleskine that I’ll be using for my Art Challenge that I’m starting December first. By the way, if you are shopping for an…
AEDM Day Ninteen
This is my final homework for Andrea Joseph’s class in SBS. I absolutely loved the process of doing this drawing. I used a Faber-Castell Pit pen in sepia for the shading. Much of the other small details were done using Pentel Slicci micro point pens. I had all these gel-type pens that I’d really never…
